



What does it take for an artwork to be considered an original? What happens to this status when an image is copied, digitised, forged — or quantum teleported?
In Original Simulations, mathematical simulations of quantum-teleportation principles transfer the information of an artwork onto its own forgery. Through the process of measurement, the first version is destroyed, leaving behind two entangled “new originals” rather than one.
The project treats originality not as a fixed property, but as something that can be disrupted, copied and reassembled across physical, digital and quantum forms. The resulting works exist both as material objects and as virtual counterparts, inviting viewers to consider where an original resides: in the physical work, in the data it contains, or in the fragile act of looking.
Developed in collaboration with the Bristol Laboratory for Quantum Computing, Original Simulations approaches quantum theory not only as a scientific model, but as a lived aesthetic experiment.
