Un’altra Notte in Bianco
Jacopo Naccarato – Nicola Ghirardelli
Curated by Edoardo Durante
The exhibition Un’altra Notte in Bianco presents a dialogue between the artistic practices of Nicola Ghirardelli and Jacopo Naccarato.
The layering of iconological fragments, archetypes, and allegorical symbols evokes a realm imbued with silent presences, an alabaster-toned atmosphere that transcends the very notion of nature itself.
Un’altra Notte in Bianco
A paranoid ambiguity. A silent echo. A hypnotic, hallucinatory thicket. An anthropomorphic and anti-anthropocentric tension. Alive and not alive. Chemically entangled with depleted vital forces. Like unbroken scars of a porous, permeable dimension, a world saturated with cavities, a force that both envelops and penetrates.
Transversal subjectivities in constant metamorphosis, suspended forms where organic matter collides with anthropic elements. Fragmented images in which the instinctual drive of an amorphous tension is mediated by the stratification of allegorical symbols, iconological archetypes that evoke a dimension saturated with silent presences. An apparent invisibility that generates an atmosphere, a dance, a rhythmic movement oscillating between absence and presence. Alabaster tonalities reflect a continuous symbiotic dialectic between the organic and the synthetic, a formal process of subtraction and composite recontextualization rooted in imbalance. A transitional stage, a provisional outcome. A threshold state where everything is temporary.
A nave traversed by an axial swarm. An ascending movement punctuated by a sequence of aerial bodies. Disquieting entities that suggest a search for mimesis, only to immediately shift toward a decentered gaze. They displace the point of view, presenting hybrid bodies, dreamlike impressions of shadows manifesting within space. An extrusion of the wall, a central body, born of a deconstructive process and a subsequent series of combinations, through which organic elements find a new spatial dimension.
The practices on display reflect a distinct sensitivity toward transformative processes of matter, activating alchemical procedures that intersect traditional techniques with an experimental approach. Anthropic elements engage in dialogue with salvaged organic remnants. Iron and clay, bone fragments, plasters, and stuccoes coexist in a symbiotic relationship where matter is stripped of the latent force that restrains it. Architectural motifs, friezes, fragments, and symbolic entities — assuming new connotations — now inhabit a liminal state, reinterpreted through a drive toward the reconfiguration of an alternate nature. An imaginative archive of forms translated into silent, grotesque, contemporary reflections that transcend linear progression, favoring an unstable sculptural language. Entropic. Like the evolutionary process of matter, never static. A mutation in perpetual motion, rejecting balance. Balance as an end, the end of everything.
