Large Margin is an exhibition of new painting and print-based work by Jackson
Daughety. The work explores the psychological terrain shaped by media
saturation, consumer culture, and the aesthetics of abundance. Through images chosen for their sense of ambiguity and spectacle, the fiction on which our society stabilizes itself is put under uncomfortably close inspection. Large
Margin looks to exist in between this media universe and our lived experience, allowing the inherent dissonances to surface. In this threshold, the exhibition reveals the moral and cultural fractures produced by a society where consumption and pro-capitalist narratives become a kind of reality architecture. In this way, the exhibition serves as a visual language update to the historical practices of exploitation and control.
