Low Ground Pressure

The exhibition HJEMSØGT (eng. Haunted) brings together six artists’ perspectives on the concept of haunting. It creates a space where different artistic practices enter into dialogue about what cannot be seen, but can clearly be felt – through intuition, a sixth sense, or something else entirely. The exhibition explores how ghosts manifest in our lives. What is it that haunts us? Is it memories from the past, anxiety about the future, or a sense of unease shaping our everyday lives?

At the same time, the exhibition examines the concept of hauntology – an aesthetic and philosophical idea concerning the traces of what never fully came into being, and what keeps returning. These traces may appear through phantoms, distorted memories, and alternative worlds that are both eerie and alluring. In this way, the concept opens up visual languages often associated with sci-fi and fantasy – genres that all six artists share a deep love for, and which give a voice to the invisible and the unexplainable.

The exhibition is supported by Knud Højgaards Fond, Kgs. Enghave Lokaludvalg, Rådet for Visuel Kunst, 15. Juni Fonden, Jorck’s Fond and Ny Carlsberg Fondet
