powerhouse

powerhouse is an energetic intervention by Nile Koetting. He charges the exhibition rooms of the former power station, which is now a cultural center, with new energy. Inspired by Freiburg’s nickname ‘solar city’, the artist addresses our relationship to sustainable energy, encouraging a critical appraisal of technical visions of unlimited growth and efficiency.

The intervention unfolds as a poetic interplay between energy, creativity and power. In the process, the human being is viewed anew like a power plant and the idea of optimization serves as a choreographic notation.
