Low Ground Pressure

Starting from the underexplored experiences of 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝘀𝗶𝗮, 𝘕𝘦𝘸 𝘚𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨: 𝘓𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴 explores the tension between linear history and 𝗻𝗼𝗻-𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀. Departing from Northeast Asia as a geographical region, the exhibition extends to shared human experiences that move beyond fixed locations. “𝘕𝘦𝘸 𝘚𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨” marks a moment when time resets—ritually, emotionally, and historically.

We will be showcasing works engaging with memories of 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝘀𝗶𝗮, as well as works responding to the idea of a “𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁-𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝘀𝗶𝗮” condition. Themes may include 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝘆, 𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗳𝗹𝘂𝗶𝗱 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 (particularly post-industrialisation, cultural encounters and hybridity), as well as 𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀.

In a contemporary context where migration, transformation, and the reconfiguration of boundaries have become the new norm, 𝘕𝘦𝘸 𝘚𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨: 𝘓𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴 creates an archival space that gently holds memories and emotions through artistic exchange and public dialogue, allowing overlooked experiences to surface and form new narratives rooted in the present with broader communities.
